Is Gorilla Snot Actually Real Gorilla Snot?
No, Gorilla Snot is not actually made from real gorilla snot. It’s just a clever name for marketing purposes.
Gorilla Snot is actually a natural product made from a non-gooey, naturally refined tree rosin. This material reacts with the natural heat from your body temperature to create an adhesive effect.
The idea is that this adhesive material can help guitarists hold onto their guitar picks. But let’s see if Gorilla Snot really lives up to this claim.

So does Gorilla Snot actually work as a guitar pick grip enhancer?
The answer is a resounding: “YES.”
In fact, the only negative thing I have to say about this product is it can occasionally work TOO well. By which I mean, it is extremely sticky. You only need to apply a very tiny amount and your guitar pick will not move around or fall out of your fingers.
Since a very small amount goes a long way, Gorilla Snot is very cost-efficient too. The single jar that it comes in will last a very long time even if you use it regularly.
To apply Gorilla Snot, I simply put a little bit on one side or both sides of my guitar pick.

Another nice thing is that Gorilla Snot allows you to still continue to use your favorite guitar picks.
Many guitarists who have an issue with dropping picks are forced to switch to picks with fancy grips that they otherwise may not like.
Gorilla snot bypasses this since you can quickly apply it and still choose to use whatever guitar pick you prefer.

Overall, I think Gorilla Snot is a great product that does what it claims to do. I highly recommend giving it a shot if you have problems dropping your guitar pick during shows, jams, or even around the house.
